BBC axes Dirk Gently
Stephen Mangan has tweeted that the BBC will not be renewing Dirk Gently for another series [source], which is such a shame as the viewing figures were high and the show was well-liked by critics and fans.

There's a nice article here by Metro regarding the decision, and you shouldn't miss Darren and Stephen too much as there is a second series of BAFTA award winning Spy starring Boyd coming later this year, and Episodes, starring Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan, is currently airing on BBC2.

Mangan said in 2011: "If they axe BBC4 and Dirk Gently, the Douglas Adams detective show I recently did for them, goes with it, I'll go round there and smash the place up with my bare hands. I'd be heartbroken if that got in the way of Dirk getting a series in the future."

Maybe we'll just have to hope he will smash the place up and then the BBC will have to give Dirk another series!
